Jidoka

Der japanische Begriff 'Jidoka' bezeichnet ein System mit der Fähigkeit zur Selbstabschaltung, wenn Anomalitäten wie Qualitäts-, Produktions- oder Maschinenfehler auftreten. Im Deutschen entspricht Jidoka einer intelligenten Automation oder der 'Autonomation' - einer Kombination von 'Automation' und 'Autonomie'. Jidoka sorgt bereits während der Fertigung dafür, dass nur fehlerfreie Produkte ausgeliefert werden.

Im Jidoka-System gewährleisten Komponenten wie Sensoren die Selbstabschaltungsfähigkeit der Maschine. Weil Verarbeitungsfehler sofort bemerkt werden, fließen fehlerhafte Teile nicht in die Weiterverarbeitung. Die Fehlererkennung macht zudem eine 100-prozentige Kontrolle zur Qualitätssicherung überflüssig. Der Maschinenstopp ermöglicht die umfassende Fehlersuche.

Jidoka soll motivationsfördernd auf Mitarbeiter wirken, weil sie die Maschine nicht ständig überwachen müssen (Wartezeiten werden als Muda, Verschwendung, empfunden), sondern mehrere gleichzeitig bedienen können (Multi Process Handling).

Jidoka is equivalent to 'autonomation', a composite of 'autonomy' and 'automation'. The concept behind Jidoka is to take action during the production process itself to ensure only fault-free products are delivered.

In a Jidoka system, components such as sensors are responsible for the automated switch-off function of machinery. Because processing errors are noted immediately, faulty parts are not forwarded on for subsequent processing. Error detection also means it is no longer necessary to perform a full 100 percent check for Quality assurance purposes. The machine shut-off enables in-depth troubleshooting.

Jidoka should have a motivational effect on personnel, who do not need to continuously monitor the machine (waiting times are wasteful) and can instead operate several machines at the same time (multi-process handling).
