Oft ist es sinnvoll, Informationen durch farbige Codierung zu klassifizieren.

Barcodes gibt es in unterschiedlicher Breite, mit unterschiedlicher Anzahl von Strichen sowie in komplexer und einfacher Codierung.

Die Breite der Striche stellt bei einfachen Barcodes die Codierung dar, bei der komplexen Codierung werden auch die Lücken herangezogen.

coding (n)

Barcodes can have different widths, a varying number of lines and can involve both complex and simple coding.

Simple barcodes use only the width of the lines to represent the coding, while complex codes also use the spaces.

OCR fonts have similar character coding to barcodes, but, unlike these, they comprise plain text that can also be read by people.
