One advantage of linear motors is that they dispense with the need for gears, which reduces both wear and power losses.

If reactive power losses occur in a load (e.g. electric motor), the power input no longer matches the power consumed by the machine.

Leistungsverlust (m)

Vorteile von Linearmotoren sind der Wegfall von Getrieben und - damit einhergehend - der verringerte Verschleiß sowie die Leistungsverluste.

Entstehen in einem Verbraucher (z. B. Elektromotor) Blindleistungsverluste, so entspricht die aufgenommene Leistung nicht mehr der in der Maschine umgesetzten Leistung.
