In the case of homogeneous bodies, the centroid of volume corresponds to the centre of mass.

In the case of certain body shapes (and/or systems), the centre of mass can be outside the body.

Forces that are acting on a system as vectors are marked out relative to the centre of mass.

Massenmittelpunkt (f)

Der Volumenschwerpunkt entspricht bei homogenen Körpern dem Massenmittelpunkt.

Der Massenmittelpunkt kann bei bestimmten Körperformen (bzw. Systemen) außerhalb des Körpers liegen.

An einem System vektoriell angreifende Kräfte werden bezugnehmend auf den Massenmittelpunkt angetragen.
