Description:
Dimensions indicate the measurements of components in engineering drawings using numerical values (nominal dimensions) and units of measurement. If the same unit of measurement is used for the entire drawing, it does not need to be indicated next to every dimension. In Standard-compliant drawings, the dimensioning needs to follow certain rules. If no additional information is provided with the Nominal dimension, a general Tolerance that is indicated in the drawing's title block applies. Alternative tolerances, fits etc. need to be marked. The following symbols are used in front of the numerical value: Diameter $\O $ Radius $R$ Spherical $S$ Arc length $\overset\frown{X\ }$ Square $\square $ Underlined numerical values indicate dimensions in the drawing that deviate from the measured value and dimensions with a border around them need to be checked once the component has been made.
