Description: Self-aligning ball bearings are a type of rolling-element Bearing that uses spherical Rolling elements. In self-aligning ball bearings, two rows of balls run in channels in the inner ring. The raceway of the outer ring takes the form of a sphered groove. As a result, the inner ring with the two rows of balls can pivot. This pivoting motion enables the Ball bearing to align itself. Self-aligning ball bearings are used when it is not possible to guarantee the equiaxiality of bearings, e.g. because of deflection in the Shaft. Due to their self-aligning action, the inner rings of the bearings can be fastened to the shafts with tapered sleeves, clamping sleeves or withdrawal sleeves via a tapered bore. Self-aligning ball bearings are often used as pedestal bearings and Flange bearings, but are also frequently used as bearings for longer shafts.
