The inside corner of the angled profiles is provided with an undercut.

However, it is permissible to factor an undercut of up to 3 cm into the depth measurement of the tread in cramped conditions.

Since undercuts present a trip hazard, they are not suitable for stairways that are to be used by children, ill or disabled people.
