Permeability

The permeability or magnetic Conductivity of a Material is an indication of how well the magnetic flux is conducted in the relevant material. It can be expressed as the ratio of magnetic flux density (B) to magnetic field Strength (H). The symbol for permeability is $\mu $ and it is measured in $As/Vm$.

Permeability in a vacuum is referred to as the magnetic constant, with a value ${{\mu }_{0}}=4\pi \cdot {{10}^{-7}}As/Vm$. The fact that this value is slightly vague can often be ignored in technical applications. The permeability of other materials is calculated from the multiple of the magnetic constant ${{\mu }_{0}}$. This multiple is also called the relative permeability. The permeability of ferromagnetic materials fluctuates widely depending on the field strength. Typical values range from approx. 10² to 106.

Permeabilidad
