Cross-belt sorters can achieve speeds of up to four metres a second.

Each carriage on a cross-belt sorter is equipped with a belt conveyor that runs at a right angle to the direction of movement.

Because cross-belt sorters do not slip when receiving and discharging articles, they are suitable for sorting a wide range of goods.
