Workload profile

A Workload profile is used to assess the workload that people experience during Work. This profile forms part of a risk assessment for a workplace. It is also used to identify whether an employee is being overstretched or underutilised at his or her workplace.

The workload factors that are assessed as part of a workload profile include workplace influences such as noise, climate and harmful substances, the physical and psychological demands of the relevant work, the Work organisation and the times and duration of work.

Drawing up a workload profile for a workplace involves identifying and recording the external influences (work bench, type of work) and personal characteristics (age, size) for the workload as well as the Work strain it causes. The ergonomic Design of work benches is also analysed.

The findings in a workload profile can be used to derive measures aimed at optimising a work bench.
