Supply lines

Supply lines are used to transport elements such as power, data, compressed air, feed air and waste air, gases and fresh and waste water to and from a workstation. On an economically and ergonomically optimised Work bench, these elements need to be readily accessible, located in a safe position and secured against unintentional movement. At an office workstation, supply lines should be routed at the same height as the Working surface as far as possible.

Supply lines should also be tailored to the work processes and, where possible, be variable and retrofittable. To prevent accidents, the working surface should be free of long cables and hoses, which should instead be routed under or over the working level. Additional Lighting can be advisable.

If the supply lines for a workstation cannot be routed at the same level, bridges, distribution columns and horizontal and vertical distribution strips can be used.
