press fit (n)

Easy to assemble thanks to a press fit in the Profile's central cavity.

The components mounted on the shaft are then produced individually, e.g. by being drilled to the correct size and to ensure the correct fit (e.g. press fit, clearance fit).

The finished part will exhibit either a clearance fit (such as in sliding and guiding applications) or an interference fit, which is also referred to as a press fit (friction resistance in the case of shrink joints).
