blow (v)

A blowing agent is added to a molten starting material to create an expandable mixture.

When it is reheated, the blowing agent expands and creates bubbles, the structure is fixed as the mixture cools.

Gas is blown into molten plastic during stirring. This causes the starting material to foam.
