Separating

Description: In manufacturing, separating processes are used to change the form of a workpiece through physical separation by removing Material particles from the original workpiece with the aim of reducing the particle count, mass and volume of the finished part. Separating processes include: Cutting: Breaking down a workpiece using scissors or a blade without chip removal Machining: Shaping by removing excess material using tools with a geometrically defined or undefined cutter. Processes include Milling, Turning, Tapping, filling, Planing, Grinding Removal: Non-mechanical removal of particles using thermal (e.g. Electrical discharge machining, Laser cutting), chemical (etching, combustion), electrochemical (electro-discharge machining) processes Dismantling: Dismantling of components or release of non-positive connections using auxiliary materials (grease, Copper paste) or Forming/Primary shaping procedures (flame cutting) Cleaning (blasting, washing) Evacuating (emptying workpieces of air or gas)
