Spreizenstapler gehören zu den motorisierten Flurförderzeugen. Sie werden überwiegend in Lagern eingesetzt, in denen ausreichend Platz für Einfahrräume eingerichtet werden kann.

Ihre festen Radarme sind so weit auseinander angeordnet, dass die Gabelzinken zwischen den Radarmen bis zum Boden abgesenkt werden können. Die Radarme werden auch als Spreizen bezeichnet. Das Fördergut wird dabei mit starren Gabeln an einem nicht neigbaren Hubmast aufgenommen. Weil die Radarme seitlich entlang der Last auskragen, liegt der Schwerpunkt der beförderten Last innerhalb der Radbasis. Die Vorderräder sind zumeist ohne Antrieb und nicht lenkbar.

Aufgenommen werden können nur Lasten, die zwischen die Spreizen passen. Das gilt etwa für längsstehende, nicht aber für querstehende Europaletten.

Description: Straddle carriers are floor conveyors used to transport heavy loads and general cargo, e.g. containers. They are usually powered by a diesel engine, which - like the transmission and driver's cabin - is often mounted on the machine itself. The straddle carrier consists of a frame from which the top spreader is suspended. The top spreader is moved vertically by a hoisting winch. The frame is fitted with running Gear that usually has eight wheels. To lift a load, the straddle carrier moves over a container that is sitting either on the floor or on a truck. The spreader Grabs the container's four corner fittings and latches onto them using a hydraulic mechanism. It then lifts the container. Straddle carriers can also lift loads from below and both sides using load shoes. Hydraulic cylinders are used to raise the load to heights of up to half a metre.

straddle truck (Neutrum)

Description: Straddle trucks are motorised floor conveyors. They are predominantly used in warehouses where sufficient space can be made to allow manoeuvring. Their fixed, wheeled support arms are spaced far enough apart to allow the fork tines to be lowered down to the ground between them. The support arms are also known as outriggers. Goods are carried by a fixed fork on a non-tilting lifting mast. Because the support arms jut out on either side of the load, the Centre of gravity is inside the vehicle's footprint. The front wheels are usually not driven or steerable. Only loads that will Fit between the outriggers can be accommodated. This applies to europallets when they are positioned head-on to the truck, but not when side-on.

Description:
