密封圈
多数密封圈是静态密封件。它们为达成各种目的而广泛使用。

Flachdichtung
Flachdichtungen sind in den meisten Fällen statische Dichtungen. Sie werden häufig und für unterschiedlichste Einsatzzwecke verwendet.
Eine übliche Verwendung ist der Einbau zwischen zwei Flanschen. Die Dichtung wird dabei vielfach in eine Nut im Flansch eingelegt. Um eine hohe Dichtungskraft zu erreichen, können Flachdichtungen auch mit veränderten Querschnitten (etwa rautenförmig) genutzt werden. Bei gleichbleibendem Pressdruck lassen sich so lokal höherer Druck erzeugen und eine Diffusion von Betriebsstoffen vermeiden.
So unterschiedlich die Einsatzmöglichkeiten von Flachdichtungen sind, so zahlreich sind die verwendeten Materialien, beispielsweise Faserstoffe, Elastomere, Gummimetall und Metalle. Für spezielle Anwendungsfälle (Beispiel: Zylinderkopfdichtung) gibt es ummantelte Flachdichtungen mit einem Kern aus Dichtungsmaterial und einem Metallmantel.
Massive Metalldichtungen aus nicht rostenden Stählen, Titan oder Nickellegierungen in Kombination mit stabilen Flanschen werden bei hoher chemischer Beanspruchung verwendet.
Gasket
Most gaskets are static seals. They are used a great deal and for all kinds of purposes.
Gaskets are commonly fitted between two flanges, in many cases in a groove in the Flange. Gaskets with modified cross-sections (e.g. diamond-shaped) can also be used to achieve a high sealing Force. These gaskets use the same pressing Power to generate a higher pressure in a specific area and thus prevent the diffusion of operating media.
The materials used for gaskets are as varied as their possible applications. Examples include fibrous materials, elastomers, rubber-to-metal materials and metals. Jacketed gaskets with a core made of sealing Material and a metal jacket are used for special applications (e.g. head gasket).
Solid metal gaskets made from stainless steels, Titanium or Nickel alloys combined with robust flanges can withstand high chemical stresses.
Empaque
La mayoría de los empaques son sellos estáticos. Se usan con mucha freciencia y para todo tipo de propósitos.
Los empaques se acomodan comúnmente entre dos bridas, en muchos casos en una ranura en la brida. Los empaques con secciones modificadas (por ejemplo, con forma de diamante) se pueden usar también para lograr una alta fuerza de sellado. Estos empaques usan la misma fuerza de presión para generar una mayor presión en un área específica y por lo tanto previenen la difusión de los medios operativos.
Los materiales usados para empaques son tan variados como sus posibles aplicaciones. Entre los ejemplos se incluyen los materiales fibrosos, los elastómeros, los materiales hule a metal y los metales. Los empaques con camisas con un centro hecho de material de sellado y una camisa de metal se usan para aplicaciones especiales (por ejemplo, empaques de cabezal).
Los empaques de metal sólido de aceros inoxidables, titanio o aleaciones de níquel combinados con bridas robustas pueden soportar altos esfuerzos químicos.
